The local Howard Volunteer Fire Department near Bald Eagle State Park puts on this annual event as their main fund raiser.  We did a club cruise up there last year for the first time.  It was fantastic!  Watching the various designs of the trebuchets mechanically launch pumpkins into the lake was so cool.  But the most impressive were the big air cannons that hurled the pumpkins more than 1/2 a mile, nearly across the the whole lake.  Besides the Chunkin activity, there’s a Fair kind of atmosphere with craft vendors, food vendors, hay rides and a beer garden.  The back roads cruise with all the fall colors is also a key highlight.

As last year, our club will have special parking, right in the middle of all the activity.  Our Corvettes were such a hit with the crowd last year, that the event chairman wants us back with more cars.…
