We will be Cruising to Vermont for Columbus Day Weekend, October 11-14, 2024. For those retired and/or that have the time and want to continue the adventure, we will be heading to New Hampshire and Maine, October 14-17, 2024. The New England Fall Colors should be at their peak during our visit.

While I will provide an overview of our cruise activities, the main purpose of this email is to provide those who are interested in participating room booking details as you need to book your room for the Vermont portion now!

This is the last major tourist weekend before Ski Season kicks in and if you don’t reserve a room now, you will be hard pressed to find one, and it won’t be with the group.  Most folks don’t know that there are more ”Leaf Peepers” that visit New England to see the peak Fall Colors than Skiers all Winter!

For the Vermont portion of the Cruise, we will once again be staying at the Gray Ghost Inn at the base of the Mount Snow Ski Resort in West Dover, VT.  I have 20 of the 26 rooms blocked for our group.  You can go to their website www.grayghostinn.com to checkout the Inn and the rooms.

While you can book online, DON’T! Call and ask for Cary or Eamon, tell them that you are with the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, CVCC so you get one of our rooms and the group rate of $130/night plus tax. Call (802) 464-2474 or toll free (800) 745-3615 to book your room.

October is a long way off. If for any reason you can no longer go, you can cancel your reservation 14 days prior, which is September 27th, for full refund of your deposit.

Cruise Overview:

Friday, October 11th

Drive to Vermont, have dinner at the Gray Ghost Inn, socialize.

Saturday, October 12th

Drive to top of Equinox Mountain ( www.equinoxmountain.com ). You will climb 3,250 feet in elevation over 5.2 miles.  If it’s a clear day, you can see for 100 miles! Bring an extra jacket, it’s 20 degrees colder and very windy at the top!

After Equinox Mountain, we will Cruise along some fantastic driving roads to a nice restaurant for lunch.  After lunch, we will do some more scenic driving making our way back to the Inn for socialization, dinner, and then more socialization!

Sunday, October 13th

Attend the Mount Snow Octoberfest.  Did I mention German Beer & Food, and German Band cranking out drinking songs among others! The ski lift will be running to the top of the mountain for hiking and viewing the vista.

There will be other optional activities available to do instead of or in addition to the Octoberfest.

Monday, October 14th

Breakfast, Group Photo, head Home or on to New Hampshire and Maine.

For those continuing on to New Hampshire and Maine, I will finalize those plans once I get a feel on how many will be participating.
