About The Event

For this year’s CVCC Columbus Day Weekend Cruise, we are heading back North! Hopefully, we will hit the Fall Colors at their peak. There isn’t a much better experience in life than cruising down Vermont Route 100, one of the Top 10 driving roads in America, in your Corvette during Fall Foliage season.

Bottom Line First: If you plan or thinking about going on this Cruise, make your reservation now as this Cruise comes at the height of Fall Colors and the B&B will be completely booked. If later you can't go, or change your mind, you can cancel your reservations up to 14 days out for full refund of your 50% deposit. Details on how to Book your room are below.

The Cruise will take place over Columbus Day Weekend...depart on Friday,

11 October and return on Monday, the 14th. We will be staying once again at the Gray Ghost Inn. The B&B is located at the base of Mount Snow, one of VT's major ski areas in the town of West Dover. The Inn is on Vermont Rte 100, again, one of the Top 10 Driving Roads in America! The Gray Ghost Inn's Hostess is Carina Hellstrom...a superb Innkeeper who will once again take great care of us.

The Inn is very clean and each room has its own modern bathroom. There are no King Beds with Orchids on the Pillow! The various rooms have a one to four beds, from Single through Queen. It's a B&B, not the Hilton! The sooner you reserve the better your choice of room/bed types. Go to www.grayghostinn.com and check out the rooms/pictures. The pictures accurately show the rooms. All remaining rooms have been blocked for us and will be released for the general public on August 1st. If we exceed Gray Ghost Inn capacity and need more rooms, Carina will place any overflow in the Doveberry Inn, located right next door just across the parking lot. All social activity/meals will take place at the Gray Ghost Inn regardless of which Inn you have a room.

IF YOU AT ALL THINKING ABOUT GOING ON THIS CRUISE, I RECOMMEND THAT YOU BOOK A ROOM NOW AS THEY WILL ALL BE GONE IF YOU HESITATE. As of this writing, there are 18 rooms available in the Gray Ghost Inn. They are starting to fill up as folks from all around are booking all the Vermont Inns to see the Vermont on that weekend. It's like trying to find a hotel room in Carlisle during Corvettes at Carlisle Weekend!

To reserve a room, call 1-800-745-3615 and ask for Carina (if she is not there, leave a message with your name, that you are with CVCC and your phone number...she will return your call promptly). Tell her you are with the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club Group and want to book a room for October 11-13. Or, go to http://www.grayghostinn.com and set up your reservation online. Make sure you put Cumberland Valley Corvette in the Remarks Section.

There is a 14 day, full money back cancellation policy should you register and later have to cancel. There is a 50% deposit charged to your card when you register and reserve your room. The three nights w/ breakfast will run about $110 -140 per night, depending on which room you select, plus taxes. Dinner Meals, along with a "keg charge" (for those who want to participate) will be extra and added to your room charge.

The Inn has a large room downstairs with a beautiful stone fireplace for us to gather and socialize and a dining room. They also have deck and a fire pit out back where we can sit and work on the Keg! They cater meals and we will decide later which dinners we want to eat at the Inn. Breakfast is provided with your room. The food is excellent.

Columbus Day Weekend is 4 days long. For those that can't get off work on Friday, you can drive up and join us late Friday night (your room key will be at the check-in desk) or on Saturday. For those who need to leave on Sunday to get back to work on Monday can do so if necessary. Adjust your reservation accordingly.

On Saturday, we will conduct a Day Cruise on some wonderful driving roads and will make several stops to see and do interesting things. Several from past Cruises said that they would like to go back to Equinox Mountain where we will took a paved toll road up about 6 miles to the top of Equinox Mountain. The top is at the 3,850' level...you will climb over 3,200' along switchbacks to get there! From the vista, you can see miles and view the two prominent Vermont Mountain Ranges the Green and the Taconic...what a view! Check it out at www.equinoxmountain.com. The Saturday Cruise Plan is still being developed.

On Sunday, you are on your own. This is a weekend with lots of festivals and things to do. The Inn has a lot of information on what’s going on in the local region. You could go on one of the Inn’s pre-planned Day Cruise routes/maps if you just want to drive more on some of the best and prettiest roads in America.

Or, you can see some of Vermont on your own. There are lots of places to go and things to see and do at places like the Hemmings Motor News Museum and Covered Bridge Museum in Bennington, the Grafton Cheese Factory, and the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Plant in Waterbury. Additionally, many of the towns have festivals during this weekend. The Inn has information available to plan your day. Better yet, you can get online now and start researching for things you would like to see or do.

We check out Monday morning after breakfast and head home. Hope you will join us for this great trip. This has been a very popular cruise and each time everyone has had a fantastic time!

Meet Up location/time, meal orders, keg participation, and other details will follow.
